Vinted Balance: how it works

Vinted Balance is a secure wallet where your earnings from sold items are stored. You need to activate your Vinted Balance to start selling on Vinted. You don’t need to use Vinted Balance to buy on Vinted.

What you can do with earnings in Vinted Balance
  • Withdraw your earnings from Vinted Balance to your bank account
  • Use the money in your Vinted Balance to buy on Vinted (along with other payment methods on Vinted)

❌ You can’t top up your Vinted Balance; it only stores the earnings from sold items.

Paying with Vinted Balance

Your Vinted Balance funds are used automatically to pay for your next purchase on Vinted. You don’t need to do anything else to use this money for shopping on the platform.

If an item costs more than your available balance, you can pay the rest using another payment method.

Important

When a buyer uses the “Buy now” button, Vinted will never ask for your personal information (like your email address or phone number) during the selling process. If you’ve shared your private details and suspect a scam, take immediate action.

“Pending balance” and “Available balance”
  1. Payment is pending
When a buyer pays for an item, the payment appears as “Pending balance” in your Vinted Balance. You can’t use that money yet.
  2. The order is delivered
After the order status updates to “delivered”, the buyer has 2 days to complete the order or submit a claim.
  3. The order is completed
If everything is OK, or if an issue is raised and resolved, the order is completed. You’ll receive your payment within 2 days. The payment will move from “Pending balance” to “Available balance.”
  4. Earnings become available
You can use your earnings in “Available balance” to pay on Vinted or withdraw them to your bank account.

To withdraw your funds, we may ask you to complete an identity check. It’s to protect your account against unauthorised use and is a mandatory requirement from our payment service provider.

Why we have Vinted Balance

Our payment service provider securely holds the payment until the order is completed. This is common practice for online marketplaces to ensure buyers receive their items.

If something goes wrong, we may refund the buyer (unless you mutually agree on a different resolution). This process helps us keep Vinted safe and secure for both buyers and sellers.
