Choosing the right parcel size

When you list an item, we’ll suggest a suitable shipping size. You’ll also see the available shipping options and each carrier’s exact size and weight limits.

Before confirming the suggested size, measure your item and check the dimensions of the box or packaging you’ll use to ship it.

• If possible, safely fold or disassemble your item so it takes up less space
• Place the item on a flat surface, then use a measuring tape or ruler to measure its length, width, and height
• If your item has an irregular shape, measure its longest, widest, and highest parts

• Use packaging that’s about the same size as your item — not too big or too small 
• Make sure that the item fits snugly inside and is protected with cushioning, if needed 
• Before shipping, take photos of the item and the packed parcel, including the inside and outside of the packaging. If the buyer reports any issues during transit, these photos may help resolve the issue faster

Once your item is packed, measure the parcel to check that it fits the shipping size limits for the chosen carrier.

What if I choose the wrong size? 

Some carriers may let you use a larger parcel size at no extra cost. However, it’s best to make sure your parcel is the right size before the buyer checks out, as the carrier may refuse the parcel or charge extra if it’s too large. 

Once a buyer checks out and pays for the order’s shipping, the parcel size and carrier cannot be changed.

What if my item is too big or heavy?

If your packed item is over the maximum size or weight limits for the available shipping options, you won’t be able to list it on Vinted.
