⚜️ A vintage REISS slide rule, a precision mathematical instrument used before calculators.
⚜️ REISS (later Reiss-Darmstadt) was a respected German manufacturer known for high-quality engineering tools.
⚜️ The model, a Darmstadt-type slide rule, recognizable by:
• the three-part linear slide,
• multiple logarithmic, trigonometric, and exponential scales,
• red auxiliary markings,
• and the classic red faux-leather protective case stamped “REISS.”
⚜️ These rules were commonly used by engineers, architects, physics students and technicians during the 1960s–1970s.
⚜️ German-made slide rules are sought after because they tend to be more accurate and durable than many American or Soviet-era equivalents. REISS is one of the respected brands (along with Aristo, Faber-Castell, and Nestler).
❕Clean, crisp markings, some light wear but overall excellent vintage condition. Case also very good with minor surface wear only.
